Abstract Dance & Performing Arts was created in October 2011 by Founder, Amber Leigh Mitchell.   

Abstract began with three sell out classes and now has over 150 classes offering tuition each week to over 500 students in Acrobatics, Dance, Drama, Singing, Music and Teacher Training. 

In 2017 Abstract was named UK & Europe's Dance School of the Year Overall Winner!

Abstract students are given the opportunity to take part in examinations, shows, competitions, festivals, performances, celebrity workshops and trips to theatre shows and Sky TV studio.

In February 2014 Abstract moved into their own studios in Portsmouth, The Abstract Performing Arts Centre. 

The Centre boasts a theatre which holds 250 audience members, four mirrored dance/performing arts studios,  a music room, and theory rooms. 

In celebration of Abstract's 5th Anniversary and huge success, Abstract opened three new schools in Horndean, Purbrook and Southsea in October 2016, and in 2017 Abstract opened three additional new schools in Fareham, Hayling Island and Havant. This has provided more children with Abstract's highly regarded tuition and outstanding professional opportunities.
